Vietnam is Italy’s largest trading partner among Asean countries and Italy is Vietnam’s fourth largest EU trading partner. In 2022, trade between the two countries reached an all-time high of USD 6.2 billion, up 11% from 2021, with GDP up 8%.
The Italy-Vietnam Foundation and the Chamber of Commerce of Romagna, as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Vietnam, organised a round table on 16 October 2023 dedicated to the potential of the Vietnamese market, and in particular the opportunities for the agro-industrial sector.
The Vietnamese market can be an interesting market as Italian companies through machinery and technology can support the industrialisation process of the agricultural and fish processing sector including the cold chain.
