On 2 February 2024, on the occasion of the closure of the celebrations of the 50th year of diplomatic relations between Italy and Vietnam, H.E. Ambassador Duong Hai Hung, presented President Maily Anna Maria with the Vietnam Friendship Medal by decree of the President of Vietnam for her efforts in promoting relations between the two countries.

The prestigious meeting, organised by the Vietnam Embassy and the Lombardy Region, was attended by Vice-Presidents Franco Venturi and Francesco Maringio’, and Marina Perdoni, the Supervisory Body.

The Friendship Medal is the highest commendation for making a great contribution to building, consolidating and developing friendship between Vietnam and countries around the world.
