Macerata Opera Festival and Ho Guom Opera Cooperation Opportunities

On Saturday morning, the City of Macerata and the Arena Sferisterio Association hosted the Ambassador of Vietnam to Italy, Duong Hai Hung, at the Cesanelli Hall. He was welcomed by Vice Mayor Francesca D’Alessandro, Superintendent Flavio Cavalli, and Artistic Director Paolo Gavazzeni. The Vietnamese delegation also included Maily Anna Maria Nguyen, President of the Italy-Vietnam Foundation; Nguyen Cong Bay, Superintendent of the Ho Guom Opera House; and Tran Hai Dang, Artistic Director of the Ho Guom Opera House.

During the meeting, organized by the Italy-Vietnam Foundation, both delegations presented their artistic proposals, highlighting the characteristics and unique features of their respective opera festivals: the Macerata Opera Festival and the Ho Guom Opera, with the aim of launching future collaboration and cultural exchange projects that can strengthen the friendship and cooperation between Italy and Vietnam.

“The internationalization of opera is an objective we want to pursue, and the meeting with the Ambassador of Vietnam allowed us to reflect on this, laying the groundwork for future initiatives that will enable us to establish a connection between the two countries through opera and the universal language of art,” commented Vice Mayor Francesca D’Alessandro. “Building relationships with distant countries, whether European or not, allows us to project the Sferisterio into an international arena, bringing the city of Macerata and its excellences to prestigious contexts.”
