On Wednesday, 3 December, the Vietnamese delegation, led by Ms. Ngo Thi Nhung, Deputy Director General of the State Treasury of Vietnam, visited Bologna and met with a regional delegation of Emilia-Romagna to further explore the budget structure and financial policies of the Emilia-Romagna Region.
Also attending the meeting were Ms. Maily Nguyen, President of the Italy–Vietnam Foundation, and Mr. Francesco Maringiò, Vice President of the Foundation.
The interest in this exchange stems from the ongoing reform of the public accounting system currently underway in Vietnam. At present, Vietnam’s system is centralized and managed by the State Treasury, which is part of the Ministry of Finance.
During the meeting, Mr. Onelio Pignatti, Director General for Financial Policies of the Emilia-Romagna Region, began with an overview of the different types of accounting systems, then described the regional accounting system, the principles on which it is based, and explained how the planning and control cycle applied in Emilia-Romagna operates.
The Emilia-Romagna Region has maintained relations with Vietnam since 2012. Over the years, numerous institutional and study visits have taken place involving representatives of Vietnamese institutions and companies. In addition, many Emilia-Romagna-based companies are currently operating in Vietnam, a rapidly growing market.
