Bamboo Garden of the Consulate of Vietnam – Via Federico Campana 24, Turin
The lens of history: Italy, Vietnam and Cuba
Under the auspices of the Consulate of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Turin and Genoa, within the framework of the initiatives promoted by the Italy-Vietnam Hub, the National Italy-Vietnam Association celebrates the Day of the Great Victory and National Reunification together with friends connected to Cuba, to remember this often-forgotten country in light of the friendship that links it to Vietnam.
“What happened to Vietnam after the victory?” will be discussed by Sandra Scagliotti, Vietnam specialist and Honorary Consul of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Turin and Genoa.
The meeting will also be an opportunity to present the volume by G. Pellerino (Centro Studi Vietnamiti / Université Sorbonne), editor of the volume “The Short Century of Italian Communism”, and to offer a parallel reflection on distinct yet intertwined historical paths: the history of Vietnam and the experience of the Italian Communist Party from its origins to its dissolution.
Speakers will include Bruno Riccardi (political scientist / National Italy-Vietnam Association) and Piero Guarini (Italy-Cuba Study Centre and Epics Editions).
Special guest: Rocco Sproviero from the National Italy-Cuba Association.
